Escrow and Closing Costs
The time period from when you have an accepted contract to when your home closes is often called the "escrow period" or "escrow". During this time, the buyer will complete their inspections and/or due diligence. The buyers' attorney will also complete a title search to make sure the title on your home is free of any liens. As you may know, there are costs associated with closing on a property. For the seller side, those costs include the commission to both the listing brokerage and selling brokerage, attorney fees, prorated HOA fees and prorated taxes, etc. When we meet to discuss your specific home, we will discuss estimated closing costs.
