Many 55+ neighborhoods and active adult communities dot the Grand Strand from North Myrtle Beach south to Pawleys Island. Each 55+ neighborhood is unique...we have gated and non-gated neighborhoods, single family neighborhoods and manufactured home neighborhoods, neighborhoods with organized activities for their residents and neighborhoods without as many activities. As you look towards your retirement years, Myrtle Beach has many housing options for you to choose.
Dining and Shopping
No matter where you are in the Myrtle Beach area, you will find plenty of shopping and dining!! Whether it is shopping at the Tanger Outlets or local shops like the Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island or outdoor shopping in the Market Common, everyone will find their favorite store. Dining...where to begin! Myrtle Beach has everything from fresh, local seafood caught that morning to fine dining restaurants. Myrtle Beach also has several restaurants that feature locally grown (or caught!) food and their menus change often depending on the season.
The Myrtle Beach area is known for entertainment. Days can be spent at one of our many local golf courses (most are public courses) and evenings can be spent listening to live music at a number of locations or taking in a show at one of the local theatres like Carolina Opry or Alabama Theatre. You can also check out our minor league baseball team, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Do not forget about our beaches! All of our beaches are public. In addition to enjoying the sun and sand, you can also jet ski, paddle board, surf, kite surf, boat, parasail and kayak.
