Our community is filled with delightful community events unique to our area. Many of those events take place outside to take advantage of our beautiful surroundings. Below are Myrtle Beach events not to miss!
Taste of the Marshwalk
The Taste of The MarshWalk gives you the opportunity to sample food from each of the restaurants on The MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet. Food selections include seafood and non seafood items. You will also enjoy local crafters, entertainment for kids, local artisans and live music.

North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival
The North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the largest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the area. WPDE will broadcast the parade if you cannot make it in person. After the parade, stay for the festival and enjoy restaurants, live music, vendors and street entertainers.

Little River Blue Crab Festival
The Little River Blue Crab Festival is held on the waterfront in Little River. In addition to fresh, local seafood, you can get festival food, listen to live beach music and shop for gifts.
Dates: May 20 and 21, 2023
Sun Fun Festival
The Myrtle Beach Sun Fun Festival started in 1951 and occurred each year until 2011. The festival returned in 2016. This event kicks off summer in Myrtle Beach with a parade, entertainment and activities for children.

Carolina Country Music Fest
Carolina Country Music Fest is a multiple day outdoor country music festival. It is held at the site of the old Pavilion and you can view the beach while listening to country music. Past artists have included Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Darius Rucker, Page Mackenzie and Kelsea Ballerina.

Murrells Inlet 4th of July Boat Parade
One of the highlights of the 4th of July is watching the Murrells Inlet 4th of July Boat Parade. The parade starts at the point in Garden City Beach and weaves through the inlet. You can view the parade on land at Morse Park Landing, Belin United Methodist Church or the Marshwalk. The start time of the parade varies each year and depends on the time. T-shirts are sold with the proceeds benefitting the Belin United Methodist Church Boy Scout Troop 396.

Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival
The Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival is held each September on the grounds of the Atalaya Castle in Huntington Beach State Park. The weekend includes artists, crafts, great food and entertainment.

Pawleys Island Wine and Food Gala
The Pawleys Island Wine and Food Gala benefits the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art and is held in the fall each year. Tickets include sampling over 75 wines, hors d’oeuvres, a chocolate and cheese tasting, dessert tasting and silent auction. More details can be found on the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art.

Loris Bog-Off
On the third Saturday in October, you need to visit Loris (in the northwest section of Horry County) for the Loris Bog-Off Festival. The festival is held in downtown Loris and people compete to win the title of best chicken bog. In addition to good chicken bog, there are also vendors, entertainment and a children’s play area.

Myrtle Beach Greek Festival
The Myrtle Beach Greek Festival is a must attend event if you like Greek food. It is sponsored by St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in October. Enjoy Greek entrees and desserts prepared by local Greek restaurants.

Conway Ghost Walk and Golf Cart Parade
The Conway Ghost Walk is a multiple day event that does take place outside. Hear ghost stories while walking through the Conway Historic District. Continue your Halloween activities by joining the Conway Halloween Golf Cart Parade by either watching the parade or decorating your golf cart and participating in the parade.
Dates: Ghost Walk: October 19-21, 2023. Golf Cart Parade: October 28, 2023
Nights of a Thousand Candles
Every December, Brookgreen Gardens hosts Nights of a Thousand Candles. The event is typically held every Thursday – Sunday in December (except Christmas). The gardens are lit by thousands of candles and sparkling lights. Once you get inside the gardens, you can walk through the different areas at your leisure, grab a drink and some food and listen to festive music.
Dates: November 25 – December 31, 2023
Taste of the Town
The Taste of the Town is an annual fundraiser for St. Andrew Catholic School and has become a must attend foodie event in Myrtle Beach. Local restaurants serve tapas style food. Food tickets are $1 and items range from $1-$5. At the Taste of the Town, you can also enjoy live entertainment and a silent auction.

Christmas Shows at Alabama Theatre and Carolina Opry
Nothing gets me in the Christmas spirit like Christmas music. Starting in November each year, the Alabama Theatre and Carolina Opry entertain the community and put everyone in the Christmas spirt with their Christmas shows. I have been to both shows multiple times and it never gets old. Enjoy Christmas music, beautiful scenes and plenty of dancing.
Dates: November-December 2023. Check the websites for specific dates and times.
Car Shows
Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas host many car and truck shows throughout the year. Some are large events and some are small, but I feel like there are a couple of car shows every month. By no means, is this list exclusive so Google which car shows will be happening when you are in town.
