Hurricane season starts June 1 and runs through November 30. Don’t let hurricane season scare you off from visiting or purchasing property in Myrtle Beach, SC. The key to getting through a summer along the Atlantic Coast is to know where to go for the most up-to-date weather information available. I rely on our local NBC affiliate, WMBF News. I have signed up for their breaking news and weather reports so I receive updates on my iPhone.
For specific hurricane information, WMBF News also has a hurricane tracker page on their website. You can use the site to track hurricanes, read hurricane related stories, learn about evacuation routes, how to prepare your home, insurance and disaster supply kits. Links of the side of the page from Red Cross and other organizations are helpful when planning for a hurricane.
You can get the latest updates by following the Storm Team on Facebook or Twitter.
Sign up today for the hurricane tracker page and these other valuable sites and learn how to prepare yourself and your family in the event a hurricane hits the Myrtle Beach area.
